The Eventuri Carbon Intake System for the BMW E52 Z8 is engineered specifically around the S62 V8 and the architecture of the factory Z8 airbox. Rather than replacing an already effective lower airbox and cold-air feed, Eventuri retains the OEM airbox bases and develops new increased-volume pre-preg carbon fiber lids, integrated MAF tubes, bespoke high-flow panel filters, and revised inlet hoses to improve airflow from the factory cold-air feeds through to the engine.
The carbon fiber airbox lids are manufactured from 100% pre-preg carbon fiber with no fiberglass reinforcement, allowing Eventuri to achieve a smooth internal surface while increasing internal volume. Integrated MAF tubes allow the airflow path through the lids to be reshaped, reducing areas of stagnation and turbulence while providing a more direct path through the panel filters and into the MAF sections. The revised design also reduces the number of interfaces compared with the factory airbox lids.
Bespoke high-flow dry panel filters are developed specifically for the system to make more effective use of the available filter area. Eventuri also replaces the factory intake hoses with custom EPDM flexible inlet tubes designed to provide a smoother path from the airboxes to the plenum while retaining the flexibility required to accommodate engine movement. CNC-machined sensor mounts and laser-cut stainless steel brackets complete the system.
Independent back-to-back dynamometer testing by DREAM Automotive in the UK demonstrated consistent gains throughout the RPM range compared with the stock airbox. Eventuri reports peak gains of 5–8 hp and 16 ft-lb of torque, with the increased filter flow and optimized airbox lid geometry also improving part-throttle and full-throttle response as the S62 pulls toward redline.
